Dr Kian David Barrett
Heralding from Pretoria, Dr Barrett made his way down to the greener pastures of Kwa-Zulu Natal. He has spent much of his time working in state at General Justice Gizenga Mpanza Hospital (formerly Stanger Hospital) and a further stint at Bethesda hospital. He spent much of his time working in paediatric and neonatal units, emergency units and clinics.

After spending years working in the state, I have built a passion for preventative medicine and patient orientated care. As medicine continues to advance, we are learning more about the benefits of leading healthier lifestyles, preventing disease and how it is far more beneficial to place our efforts into prevention rather than just treating pathologies.
I have made changes to my consultations by extending contact time with clients, using the latest technology to run algorithms on each client’s risks based on medical history, having a multidisciplinary team available to advise during consultation and using technology to explain diagnoses and treatment better.
